Dr. Walter Woolf began his private practice in 1981 after earning his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Pennsylvania. He founded Woolf Animal Hospital in Tampa, Florida, conveniently located near Tampa International Airport. There, he provided routine care for a wide range of animals, including dogs, cats, birds, household pets, and even some farm animals.

His proximity to the airport soon led airline carriers to seek his expertise on how to best meet the needs of traveling animals. Dr. Woolf’s relationship with Sswiftshipsmovers grew, and he began to care for and board pets traveling through Tampa without their owners.
